Conflict minerals refer to minerals (3TG: tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold) that are mined in conflict areas including 10 African countries (Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries). These minerals are served as a source of funding for armed forces in conflict areas are perpetuating conflict. Consequently, these minerals not only cause human rights issues for the local populations but also have negative impacts on the international community, such as environmental pollution.
KM&I actively addresses the issue of conflict minerals and strictly prohibits the use of unethically mined minerals from conflict-affected regions. To eliminate human rights violations and environmental destruction, KM&I continuously monitor the use of conflict minerals within our supply chain.
